Ms. Covelli.
driven. passionate. occasionally goofy.
a little about me.
I have been teaching visual art for 15 years and I feel grateful to have touched the lives of many students. In 2003 I graduated with my Bachelors degree from Northern Illinois University. After working in the field for 3 years I decided to go back and get my Masters degree in art education from Maryland College Institute of Art (MICA), with a studio emphasis in painting. From that point on, my teaching style had radically changed. I began to study the meaningfulness of making art and I now teach with a lens more focused on providing students with opportunities to engage in narrative thinking and story-telling in their work. I am a firm believer that every student is an artist in their own way and that they will share a part of who they are in the creative process, whether it be through personal or more global and humanitarian perspectives. I love working with many different people, and I leave my job every day feeling inspired by the totally awesome and creative ideas my students produce! It is such a joy!
